Day 11 of 30 in 30- Patriotic Flowers

Day 11 – I saw these beautiful flowers last summer and snapped a pic, knowing I would paint them one day.  With the dreariness of winter, it sure is nice to see some bright, colorful flowers, and a colorful American flag.

I have over 11,000 pics on my phone.  You don’t have to read that again, you read it correctly, 11,000.  And I just became a Grandmother for the first time, so goodness knows that’s going to increase substantially.  I take lots of pics, as I use them for different paintings.  Sometimes, it may be a small one like this, and other times this may go on a pretty porch on someone’s house.

This is a small painting, and has a bow for hanging. There is a link below the image to visit my etsy shoppe, or to visit the blog for the challenge to see more art.

Hope you enjoying the art I have been creating! At this point I would love to hear from you!  Its not always easy listening to crickets, lol! Whether its a comment to keep going, or if you like my art, I would love to hear it!

Day 4 of 30 in 30- In the Spotlight

Day 4- In the spotlight…. That’s what it seemed to me when I saw this flag in the sunlight,  at a local house I saw in my town last summer.  I loved the pretty purple flowers growing rebelliously with no order in front of the house.  How I love that look!  When a garden blooms riotously with so much color!

I always say that lighting can make a painting, and here is a perfect example.  The sunlight filters in on the house and flowers, and even the flag.  Hence the name “in the spotlight”

This one will be available in my etsy shoppe.

Day 1 of 30 in 30

I decided to kick off the challenge with one I have been working on for a little while….This is a local scene in a neighboring town, named Moosup, during the summer. I was driving through town, and saw these two beautiful homes in their glory. One had beautiful purple flowers all in bloom, hanging from the porch rafters, and the other was proudly dressed in patriotic colors. They complimented each other beautifully, and I knew I had to paint them. I added a pretty little flower stand, as I am imagining the lady of the house trying to fund her flower habit. There are worse habits to have!

I named this “Moosup’s beauty row”, as I feel that’s what it is!

This is a gallery wrapped canvas, meaning it does not need a frame, and is available in my etsy shoppe.

Mini Challenge- Day 4

Today was day 4 and I decided to continue with my patriotic theme, and pick a photo from summer.  I had visited my art teachers home, for a quick critique and saw this pretty chair in her yard.  I added flag in, and voila! I had my 4th painting.  This one was a lot of fun, and I found myself finishing easily in the 20 minutes allotted.

I did not have a great place to take the pic, so my apologies for the unflattering photo.

Day 17- Patriotic Front

Day 17 of the painting challenge…

Day 17 of the 30 in 30.   This was inspired from a pic I took of a local house in my town.  I just happened to see it, and enjoyed the patriotic display.  So I snapped a photo to paint it later. If you know me, I love to paint our flag.

That’s one of the nice things about phones, having a camera conveniently available.  I have over 10,000 pics on my phone.  Yes, you read that correctly.  I am now in the process of trying to figure out how to organize them.
